Born in 1948 at Pinetown, Natal (South Africa), Maxie grew up in Oudtshoorn. I try to convey the expanse, perfection & beauty thereof via this fantastic medium, which deserves its name "water color painting" in essence. The water is the method of transport and the life-vain of the pigment, and the pigment reacts on it. In the hands of the Artist it becomes a wonderful experience to see how the pigment reacts. There has to be a fine balance between water, brush, pigment, nature, art and the elements of creation." Maxi also paints in pastels, oils and acrylic and various drawing mediums. She lectures art for adults and art gifted children the past 13 years at Art.b Center. Maxi is involved in art therapy. Runs a gallery for up and coming artist "The Living Vine Gallery" It is a unique working studio art gallery.
